How to Lose your Double Chin

 Lose your Double Chin

There are three basic reasons that you will develop a double chin: being overweight, genetics, or slack facial muscles. As you age, your chin is one of those areas that gravity takes a toll on and starts to signal your true age. It is also one of the hardest things to get rid of but if you are determined to lose your double chin, there are some things that can help.

I’m really overweight. How much weight will I have to lose in order to lose my double chin? Probably all of it. If you are just beginning to have a problem with a double chin and you are overweight, then it probably wasn’t the first place that you gained weight. Not only doesn’t weight come off the way we choose for it to but it also doesn’t always come off in the same way it goes on. Your body type, and where you carry your excess weight will make a big difference in how quickly you lose your double chin.

Will exercising my face help? If slack facial muscles are the biggest contributor to your double chin, then, yes, it should help to tighten up your chin. If you are trim and toned from head to toe except for your chin, then you can focus on exercising this area.

Otherwise, it will benefit you more to exercise the rest of your body to help you lose your double chin. Since you can’t get rid of fat in one spot, you have to exercise all over to burn all of your body fat, including that on your chin. Commit to burning fat all over, and check your chin periodically. You might be surprised at how quickly it disappears.

There are exercise videos that are made specifically for the face but you can probably find everything you need to lose your double chin online. One of the best ones is the “scoop” which works the platysma muscle. To do this exercise, pull your lip up over your bottom teeth. Open your mouth wide and then move your jaw up and down in a scooping motion Do it in front of a mirror every day to get optimal results.

When should I consider surgery? Surgery should always be your last resort but there are some circumstances that offer no alternatives. Liposuction is used to remove excess fat from under the skin and it can be used to lose your double chin. However, if your double chin is a result of too much fat, it is a much healthier option for you to lose the double chin by losing the weight. Other types of surgery are used to eliminate loose skin or to tighten up the area. Never consider surgery before you have exhausted all other avenues.

Sometimes when people who have been extremely obese lose their excess weight, their skin no longer has the elasticity to fit their new trimmer body. If this is the case with you, then surgery is probably going to be the best way for you to lose your double chin.

Will skin firming creams improve my double chin? Probably not. The absolute best creams on the market are going to show very little improvement in the size and shape of your chin. Chances are, if you are determined to lose your double chin then there is more of a problem than these creams have the capacity to remedy. Weight loss, and burning off excess fat all over your body will probably help more than a pricey face cream will.

Anyone can lose a double chin if they are willing to do what is necessary to meet their goals.
